Looking after Mum

Childbirth is a difficult, draining and rewarding experience. Many Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) texts state that a woman should rest for at least one month to recover herself from this depleting experience. Although in our modern society the idea of a months rest would be dismissed, we can take some wisdom from the idea of rejuvenation of the body's resources so we can better help ourselves and in turn our beautiful new babies.

Acupuncture can offer some valuable peace and recovery during this most demanding time on your body.

Some treatment can be administered by your Acupuncturist and some gentle, non needle techniques can be taught to a partner, family member or friend. Some conditions that can be addressed post natal are;

Recovery of energy after birth Balance the emotions ExhaustionPersistent uterine bleeding

  (that has been assessed by midwife/doctor)

After pains Night sweats, perineal discomfortBreast feeding problems
