Post Natal Acupuncture
Being one of the most amazing and rewarding experiences in a woman’s life, childbirth can also deplete and drain the body physically. Many Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) texts state that a woman should rest for at least one month to recover from this depleting experience. Although in our modern society the idea of a month’s rest is rather impractical, we can take some wisdom from the idea of rejuvenation of the body’s resources so we can better help ourselves and in turn our beautiful new babies.
Acupuncture can offer some valuable peace and recovery during this most demanding time on your body. Some issues that can be addressed post natal are:
- Recovery of energy after birth
- Balance the emotions
- Exhaustion
- Persistent uterine bleeding (that has been assessed by midwife/doctor)
- After pains
- Night sweats
- Perineal discomfort
- Breast feeding problems (insufficient milk, oversupply, mastitis)
